Itinerary

Day 1: Dendapasar – Labuan Bajo.

Arrive at Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo our guide and driver will pick up you and then drive to the harbor.  Enjoy the island views as you boat close to Komodo Island. Stop at Pink Beach for swimming and snorkeling. Lunch, Dinner and overnight on Boat around Komodo Island.

2nd Day: Birding in Komodo Island (B/L/D)

The boat crew will prepare your breakfast early in the morning. Your birding trip will start at 06.30 am. You will receive a briefing by a Komodo National Park Ranger and you will start your long trek on Komodo Island. Morning is the best time for you to see Komodo dragons as that is when they are active. Mornings are also best to see the many birds on Komodo: Yellow-crested Cockatoo, Rusty-breasted Whistler and many more local specialities.

Trekking will finish by 09.30 a.m. and then the boat will bring you back to Labuan Bajo. Lunch will be served on the boat during the return trip.

Arrive at Labuan Bajo harbor, your driver will pick you up and drive you to Sano Nggoang – Mbeliling, about 57 km. When you arrive in the early afternoon, you will do some afternoon trekking around Sano Nggoang crater lake and search for many local specialty bird species such as Lesser Whistling-duck and Lesser Sandpiper, and also meet local people.

Dinner and overnight at local homestay, a lovely house on the lake.

3th Day: Birding in Sano Nggoang and Mbeliling Forest (B-L-D)

Sano Nggoang and Mbeliling Forest birding will start on 05.00 AM with early breakfast. You can choose a later breakfast time if you wish, after two hours birding around Sano Nggoang crater lake. Then the trip will continue by car towards the Mbeliling Forest, with lunch at local house in Werang. After lunch you will be taken by the driver back to Labuan Bajo with a stop at the trekking start point to visit Cunca Rami waterfall. Trekking will take 45 minutes ( 2,5 km ).

You have 1,5 hour at Cunca Rami to enjoy the waterfall and surroundings. The impressive Cunca Rami waterfall has many pretty pools that offer a refreshing natural swimming experience.

After enjoying the waterfall, you’ll be driven to Labuan Bajo. Stay overnight and dinner at Purisari Beach Hotel.

4th Day: Labuan Bajo – Denpasar

Morning free program at Hotel, before transfer to the airport.

Includes:

  • Air conditioned car during tours and transfer
  • Liveaboard boat with air conditioned bedroom to Komodo Island
  • Accommodation (based on a shared room)
  • Meals which indicated on itinerary (B/L/D)
  • Drinking water, 2 bottle mineral water per day
  • Specialist bird watching guide fluent in English or German (make request upon reservation)
  • Entrance fee and Ranger fee at Komodo National Park

Excludes:

  • Domestic Flights
  • Porter fees
  • Any kind of expenditures not mentioned on items included and incurred due to flight cancellation/delays or due to other causes beyond our control (force majeure). Medical coverage/insurance (vital)

What to bring:

  • Mosquito repellent
  • Trekking  shoes and flipflop sandals for beaches and bathrooms
  • Raincoat, sun block

Condition:

Fitness; The trip suits all physically fit people. Walking is necessary with some minimal climbing if any. Preventive drugs and vaccinations will be necessary because malaria and other fevers are common in some places. Binoculars, (spotting scope optional), good walking shoes/boots/sandals, rain gear (boots, umbrellas (this can be bought locally) and light clothing is important.
