Itinerary

Day 1: Denpasar – Labuan Bajo – Komodo NP (-/L/D)

On arrival at Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo, your driver and guide will pick up you and drive directly to harbor and start boating by AC Cabin Boat to Rinca Island with stop at Manjarite for Snorkeling and short birding. Lunch on boat. After lunch, continue to Loh Buaya, Rinca Island. Rinca It is one of the three largest islands included in Komodo National Park. The island is famous for Komodo dragons, giant lizards that can measure up to 3 metres (9.8 ft) long. Rinca is also populated with many other species such as wild pigs, buffalo, Timor Deer, Green pit viper, Orange-footed scrubfowl and many birds.

After trekking, back to the boat to continue cross to Komodo Island.

Day 2: Birding on Komodo Island – Pink Beach – Labuan Bajo (B/L/D)

Trekking starts at 06:00 am, see Komodo dragons and wildlife; Timor Deer, Orange-footed Srcubfowl, Yellow crested Cockatoo, Tenggara Oriole, Rusty breasted Whistler, and more. Trekking will finish at 10:00AM, then boating back to Labuan Bajo, with stop at Pink beach for swimming and snorkeling. Arrive at the harbor then drop you to the hotel. Dinner and stay overnight at Purisari Beach Hotel

Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Puarlolo – Sanonggoang(B/L/D)

Depart early in the morning from hotel, drive to Puarlolo forest for morning birding. Puarlolo is a small forest and an important habitat for Flores Monarch (Symposiachrus sacerdotum), lies at the edge of Mbeliling forest; the biggest conservation area of west Manggarai regency. Any other targets of the site; Red-cheeked Parrot, Chestnut-backed Thrush, Chestnut-capped Thrush, Elegant Pitta, Thick-billed Heleia, Crested Heleia, Sunda white-eye, Rusty-breasted/Tenggara whistler, Russet-capped Tesia, Pygmy cupwing, Flame-breasted Sunbird, Black-fronted Flowerpecker, Golden-rumped Flowerpecker, and more.
Having lunch at local house next to the forest. After lunch drive to Rangat village and start trekking to Cunca Rami waterfall. Trekking will take 45 minutes. Enjoy soft birding and relaxing at the waterfall. Swimming at the natural pool would be possible. From the waterfall, continue trekking to Pinggong village, where the car pick-up and take you to Sanonggoang crater lake.
Check in to the guest house next to the lake then start birding and owling till 07:30 PM. Molluccan scops-owl and wallaces scops-owl are the target.
Dinner and stay overnight at the guest house.

Day 4: Sanonggoang – Lembor – Ruteng(B/L/D)

Birding starts at 05:45 AM, around the lake. The important target here is Lewin’s Rail (Lewinia pectoralis) exsul, that been found here on 1974 as the last record. Till now, every birder try to find them again. Another target; Flores Crow, Black-naped Oriole, Nusatenggara Paradise Flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch. The session finish at 08:00 AM then back to the guest house for breakfast. Prepare for check out till 09:00 AM the drive to the next side of the forest to search for Flores/leaf Lorikeet. Another target;Glithering Kingfisher, Variable Goshawk.
Finish at 10:00am then continue driven to Bambor to reach Flores Highway, then continue to Lembor. Stop for lunch before drive to Ruteng.

Stop at Cancar about 1 hour, to see Spiderweb rice fields. Dinner at local restaurant and stay overnight at Springhill Bungalow.

Day 5: Explore Ruteng Nature Reserve (B/L/D)

Depart early in the morning (04:00am) to visit Ranamese forest, for owling the target; Flores Scops-owl. Continue morning birding, till 09:30 am, with targets: Bare-throated Whistler, Flores Hanging Parrot, Ruddy Cuckoodove, Flores Green Pigeon, and more. Back to the town and turn to the coffee plantation next to the town to continue birding and enjoying the landscape of rice fields. The main target is Flores Hawk Eagle (very rare).

Lunch at local restaurant in Ruteng. After lunch visit ricefields to search for wetland birds. Targets: White breasted waterhen, Buff-banded Rail, Lewins Rail (very rare), Crakes and munias.
Dinner at local restaurant and stay overnight at Springhill Bungalow.

Day 6: Ruteng – Golo Lusang – Potawangka (B/L/D)

Depart at 05:30 Am from hotel, visit Golo Lusang, a part of Nature reserve, lies at 4 km south of Ruteng, the place for Flores Shortwing, Flores Flowerpecker, Cream-browed Heleia, and many other target.
Finish at 08:30 am, back to the hotel for breakfast then drive to Lembor. Luch in Lembor then continue to Labuan Bajo with short birding at Potawangka. Special target at Potawangka is Flores Hanging parrot. Birding finish at 05:30 PM, then directly driven to the Hotel.
Dinner and stay overnight at Purisari Beach Hotel.

Day 7: Labuan Bajo – Out (B/-/-)

Enjoy your relax time in the morning or soft birding at the beach around the hotel before transfer to the port. Finish.
