Day 1: Denpasar – Labuan Bajo – Komodo National Park (-/L/D)
On arrival time, our guide and driver will pick up you at Komodo airport, Labuan Bajo then take you to the harbor. There an AC Cabin boat will take you to Komodo National Park. The trip to National Park provides the possibility to take photo of water birds and raptors. Target: Black-naped tern, Little Tern, Lesser Frigatebird, Pacifik reef egret, Crested tern, White-bellied Fish Eagle , Brahminy Kite. The boat stay next to the harbor of Komodo Island. Night photography at Komodo Island with main target: Moluccan scops-Owl and Easter Barn Owl.
Dinner and stay overnight on Boat.
Day 2: Komodo – Labuan Bajo (B/L/D)
Start trekking at 06:00 am and finish at 09:00 am. Target; Yellow crested Cockatoo, Komodo Dragon, Black naped Oriole. Back to the boat, breakfast and boating back to Labuan Bajo. Spend 1 hour at pink beach for swimming and snorkeling or photograph waterbirds at the area; White bellied Sea-eagle, Black-naped Tern, Brahminy Kite. Lunch on boat.
Back to Labuan Bajo and drop you to the hotel.
Birding around the ricefields at southern part of the town in the afternoon. Target; Timor zebra finch, Group of cattle egret under the sunset and finish with Mees’s Nightjaar .
Dinner and Stay overnight at Purisari Beach Hotel
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Puarlolo – Sanonggoang (B/L/D)
Depart from hotel at 06:00 am, then driven about 1 hour to Puarlolo forest. Morning birding at the site till 09:30.
Target: Flores Monarch, Chestnut-capped Thrush, Red Cheeked Parrot, Ruddy Cuckoodove, Crested Heleia, Thick-billed Heleia, Tenggara Whistler, Flores Minivet, and more.
Continue drive to Ndengo village, where ‘the critically endangered’ Flores Hawk Eagle usually soaring around the village. From Ndengo, trekking for 2 km to Cunca Rami waterfall to enjoy the natural pond of the waterfall and do birding around the river. Having lunch at local house (lunch box) then continue drive to Sanonggoang crater lake. Birding around the lake.
Dinner and Stay overnight at local guesthouse next to the lake.
Day 4: Sanonggoang – Lembor – Ruteng (B/L/D)
Birding starts at 05:45 AM, around the lake. target; Flores Crow, Black-naped Oriole, Nusatenggara Paradise Flycatcher, Black-naped Monarch. The session finish at 08:00 AM then back to the guest house for breakfast. Prepare for check out till 09:00 AM the drive to the next side of the forest to search for Flores/leaf Lorikeet. Another target;Glithering Kingfisher, Variable Goshawk.
Finish at 10:00am then continue driven to Bambor to reach Flores Highway, then continue to Lembor. Stop for lunch before drive to Ruteng.
Stop at Cancar about 1 hour, to see Spiderweb rice fields. Dinner at local restaurant and stay overnight at Springhill Bungalow.
Day 4: Explore Ruteng Nature Reserve (B/L/D)
Depart early in the morning (04:00am) to visit Ranamese forest, for owling the target; Flores Scops-owl. Continue morning birding, till 11:30 am, with targets: Bare-throated Whistler, Flores Hanging Parrot, Ruddy Cuckoodove, Flores Green Pigeon, and more. Back to the town for lunch at local restaurant in Ruteng. After lunch visit ricefields to search for wetland birds. Targets: White breasted waterhen, Buff-banded Rail, Lewins Rail (very rare), Crakes, Five-coloured Munia, and any other munias. Noght owling to find Wallace’s Scops Owl.
Dinner at local restaurant and stay overnight at Springhill Bungalow.
Day 5: Ruteng – Golo Lusang – Labuan Bajo (B/L/D)
Depart at 06:30 Am from hotel, visit Golo Lusang, a part of Nature reserve, lies at 4 km south of Ruteng, the place for Flores Shortwing, Flores Flowerpecker, Cream-browed Heleia, Snowy-browed Flycatcher and many other target. 09:00 am back to the town and turn to the coffee plantation to continue birding and enjoying the landscape of rice fields. The main target is Flores Hawk Eagle (very rare).
Lunch at local restaurant in Ruteng before drive to Labuan Bajo. Dinner and stay overnight at Purisari Beach Hotel.
Day 6: Birding at Potawangka (B/L/-)
Depart at 06:30 am from hotel, to Potawangka forest for a half day birding. Potawangka is one of the most visited birding site near Labuan Bajo. Lies on 250 masl – 700 masl, the important targets here; Flores Hawk Eagle and Flores Hanging Parrot. Any other target: Black-naped Fruit dove, Flores Lorikeet, White-rumped Kingfisher, Common Kingfisher, Variable Goshawk, Strawberry Finch, Timor zebra Finch, and more.
Finish at 11:00 am, then back to Labuan Bajo. Check out from hotel and having lunch at local restaurant before drop you to the Airport. Finish
